STOCKHOLM (SWEDEN) .- The use of mobile phones for over a decade can double the risk of developing certain brain tumors, according to a review of published studies developed by the University Hospital in Orebro, Sweden.

The results "provide a consistent pattern of increased risk of developing acoustic neuromas and gliomas," wrote the team led by Dr. Lennart Hardell.

The Acoustic neuromas are benign growths in the joint hearing nerve and brain. Gliomas, however, are difficult to treat malignant tumors that affect the brain and nervous system.
